Akschota in powder form, obtained from the bark, successfully used in Ayurveda for treating periodontitis, bleeding gums. As component it is part of toothpastes, mouthwashes, chewing gums and deodorants.

Leaves and bark are helping with herpes, eczema. Ripe fruit is used as a tonic for rheumatism. Shell's microparticles act as exfoliant.
